Nor does it apply to any online activity we carry out on behalf of ouremployer clients (including any recruitment websites and prize promotions weadminister for them). In the language of data protection laws, we act as ‘dataprocessor’ for our employer client who is the ‘data controller’. This isbecause they control the purposes and means for processing the data. This website is operated by MyIntern Ltd. We are a limited company and our registered office and businessaddress is Innovation Park, University of Nottingham, Triumph Rd, NottinghamNG7 2TU.

We collect, use and areresponsible for certain personal information about you for the purposes ofrunning our business. When we do so we are regulated under the General DataProtection Regulation which applies across the European Union and the UnitedKingdom and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information forthe purposes of those laws.

Throughout our websites welink to websites of our job boards and thier employer clients, who use ourservices to promote placements, apprenticeships and other opportunities. These websitesmay also gather information about you in accordance with their own separateprivacy policies. For privacy information relating to our employer clients’websites, please consult their privacy policies as appropriate. They willnormally be found at a link on the homepage of the employer’s site you clickthrough, or will be notified to you during the employer client’s registrationprocess.

 

Collection and personalinformation use

 

We collect personalinformation about you when you access our website, register with us, contactus, ask us for information, send us feedback, post reviews and other materialto our website and participate in research surveys we conduct.

We collect this personal information from youeither directly, such as when you register with us, contact us, complete questionnaires, or indirectly, such as yourbrowsing activity while on our website (see ‘Cookies’ below).

Our websites are aimed atthose students in higher education. None of the opportunities we promote on ourwebsites are open to any person below 16 years of age. Our websites are notintended for use by children under the age of 16 and we do not knowinglycollect or use personal information relating to children under 13, eitherthrough our websites or the activities of our brand representatives. If someonewe know is under 13 years of age provides us with any information about them,we will either request the consent of their parent or guardian, or delete theinformation as soon as reasonably possible.

We will retain yourinformation only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in thispolicy. If you have an account on our website and no longer want us to use yourinformation to provide our website services and email information to you, youmay close your account by contacting us and we are working hard to bring in adelete account button.

If you haven’t already deletedyour account, we will take any personally identifying data out of your account(that is, ‘anonymise’ it) if you have not interacted with our website for aperiod of 4 years.

If you work for a prospectiveclient and we have your contact details for marketing purposes, we will retainyour contact details for no more than 2 years, unless your business becomes apartner of My Intern Ltd.

If you are a user or contactworking for one of our clients, we will retain information we process about youas long as is required in order to provide you with our services, or contactyou about our services.

Additionally, we will retainand use your information to the extent we need to, to comply with our legalobligations, resolve disputes, administer and enforce our client agreements,and as otherwise described in this privacy policy.

If you opt in to share yourdata with employers and job-baords, the following information will be passed toall the employers that you shortlist, follow or favourite.

If at a later date you wouldlike to stop sharing your data with employers, you can change your preferencein the ‘account’ section of our website or contact us directly for this change whichwe will respond as reasonably as possible.

Once the information has beenpassed to a third-party, the employer has obligations and responsibilities toyou in respect of how they process your data. If you would like the employer toremove or amend the data we share with them, please contact the employerdirectly.
